Comparative NOx measurements
Comparative measurements of NOx according to NFS 2016:13 are carried out annually to check boilers that are covered by the Environmental Protection Agency’s regulations on the environmental charge on emissions of nitrogen oxides during energy production.
Emission measurements
Usually carried out with the aim of checking that current emission requirements are met, but also for e.g. process optimization and performance tests at a new or rebuilt facility.
Emission measurement - Incineration & Waste
Measurements at large incineration plants normally according to SFS 2013:252 and at waste incineration plants according to SFS 2013:253. These are Swedish guidelines, but measurements can be adapted to the customer’s specific needs.
Calibration measurements
Calibration measurements (QAL2/AST) with regard to the operator’s automatic measurement system (AMS) according to SS-EN 14181. Simpler forms of calibration measurements of AMS are also offered.
Performance test
Measurements performed based on established performance requirements on a new or retrofitted facility.
Other Services

Emission measurements - How is it done?
The process below describes a typical course of an emission measurement or inspection.
Preparatory work
The customer provides Metlab with information about the facility, which conditions exist for measuring and which substances/parameters are of interest. In some cases, a preliminary visit to the facility may be considered justified.
Planning
The customer and Metlab will find a suitable time for execution. Good foresight is encouraged as the pavement can be very hard during certain parts of the year.
Field work
Metlab arrives at the customer’s facility, sets up the required equipment and performs the measurement.
Analysis
Analyzes are performed on the samples taken by Metlab during the field work.
Reporting
Metlab compiles analyzes and measurement results and issues an accredited emissions report to the customer. The report is delivered with a digital signature from Metlab.

We are one of Sweden’s leading air laboratories with accreditation for the most common measurement parameters such as sampling of dust, micro-organic emissions (dioxin etc.), metals (mercury etc.), vapors of HCl, HF, SO2, SO3, NH3 etc., gas analysis (O2 , CO2, CO, SO2, NOx, VOC), gas flow and temperature. In addition to emission measurements, Metlab also offers a number of other consulting services in the environmental area.
